About Me

A headshot of Roshni Chabra, an Indian woman in an orange shirt with glasses smiling with greenery in the background.

Hello, I am Roshni Chabra, I use she/her pronouns and I am a cis neurodivergent Dyke. I use the word Dyke since it has been taken back as a political term for Lesbians to use. I am an Intersectional Feminist Therapist who is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California. I am an EMDR International Association Certified Therapist, Approved Consultant and EMDR Therapy Trainer. I am also the Founder and President of the Lavender Healing Collective, a group practice dedicated to prioritizing the mental health of BIPoC LGBTQ+ communities. I am Co-Owner, Chief Clinical Officer, and MET(T)A (Mindfulness and EMDR Treatment Template for Agencies) Protocol Agency Director at StartAgain Associates.

I have worked in mental health for over 20 years and have served various populations including LGBTQ+ youth and adults, couples, families, probation and foster youth, as well as folx with addiction and folx struggling with complex trauma. Additionally, I work with neurodivergent folx specializing in ADHD, and folx with chronic pain or illness. In addition, I worked in the Rape Crisis Movement both locally and in San Francisco for five years providing direct services to survivors as well as taking on a leadership/ management role. Through a certificate in American Humanics, I studied nonprofit management and have served as a Program Manager and Director in Wraparound, a service provided to families involved in oppressive systems. I currently live in Long Beach, California and love to garden, play music, and ride my bike when I’m not busy trying to take over the world!

All of this to say, how can I assist you today?

My approach with all of the services I provide is from an anti-oppression framework, first and foremost. As an Intersectional Feminist Therapist I aim for the support I provide to always be trauma focused, LGBTQ+ affirmative and social justice oriented. I believe this is the only way for us to heal, especially from oppression trauma.
